Why landscape matters

Every course holds layers of memory.

Mapping historic courses can show how the sport changed alongside schools, parks, development, transportation, and land use. Trail records will combine field documentation, photographs, maps, archival evidence, and oral histories.

Locations and histories will be published only after review, with attention to access, safety, property, and sensitive places.

Route verification

Verify routes and access independently.

Historic and current routes may cross property with changing ownership, rules, hazards, or accessibility conditions. Map lines, distances, public access, and trail conditions must be independently verified before visiting or using a course.
